With the #NDOteenCamps, FARCO-PHARMA is building bridges and offering support for adolescent patients suffering from neurogenic detrusor overactivity (NDO).

NDO can have various causes: It can be caused by paraplegia or diseases such as multiple sclerosis, strokes, Parkinson’s disease, or diabetes mellitus. In particular, a congenital malformation of the spinal cord, spina bifida, can also be the cause. The disease is associated with many challenges in everyday life. Adolescents in puberty experience this particularly intensely. During this phase, they deal with important issues such as becoming independent and breaking away from their parents. Education and career choices are on their minds, and they are also dealing with relationships and sexuality.

In addition, for those affected, the transition to long-term medical care is an issue that not only concerns them, but also their parents and doctors.

FARCO-PHARMA‘s #NDOteenCamps address these challenges in order to encourage young people affected by NDO to lead independent lives. The all-day event is specially tailored to the needs of young people and offers an interactive platform for dialogue at regional events. In addition to the “right” bladder management, the focus will be on topics that are of particular interest to Generation Z. Mentors, influencers, and experts offer breakout sessions and workshops where experiences can be exchanged and discussed.

A separate, parallel program will be offered at the accessible event for those accompanying those affected. The focus here is on an active exchange of experiences and assistance in everyday life.
